<dc:description xml:lang="eng">The two Otinel frescoes in Treviso and Sesto al Reghena represent unique works of art, being inspired by a version of the Chanson d’Otinel circulating in the area of Veneto in the fourteenth century, and now lost. Many critics have tried to trace back the origins of the Otinel; however, the subject is still matter for investigation. The two Italian frescoes confirm that the legend was popular throughout the fourteenth century in northern Italy.</dc:description>
