Centipedes. Terrestrial, very agile carnivores; some are venomous.
External and internal general morphology. The head appendages are a pair of antennae and three pairs of buccal appendages; a pair of eyes on the dorsal side of the head consists of groups of ocelli.
The first trunk appendages are greatly enlarged and modified in clawlike structures called forcipules and are used to stab prey and inject poison.
