Diplopoda.
Millipedes, cosmopolitan. 1) Anterior end with antennae, buccal appendages and first segments with only one pair of legs; first diplosegment with two pairs of legs is indicated. 2, 3) head with buccal appendages. 4, 5, 6) Reproductive systems. 7, 8, 9) Different stages of development.
10) Just hatched larva with three pairs of legs.
Phylum Onychophora.
Animals living in rain forests and other moist habitats in tropical and subtropical regions of the Southern Hemisphere.
11) Peripatus dorsal view. 12) Anterior portion with antennae, ventral view. 13) Digestive system and slime glands. 15) Internal anatomy: bilobate brain, placed on the pharynx, and 2 ventral nerve cords connected by commissures; male reproductive system; nephridia. 14) Female reproductive system. 16) Leg with claws. 17) Trachea. 18) Nephridium.
