Description
Phylum Brachiopoda
Marine bottom-dwelling organisms with a filtering apparatus, the lophophore. Their body is protected by two calcareous shell valves, one dorsal and one ventral, and are attached to a substrate by means of a fleshy stalk called a pedicel.
Various larval forms can be seen.
