The Clandestine Press Collection at the University Centre for the History of the Italian Resistance and the Contemporary Age
The Clandestine Press Collection at the University Centre for the History of the Italian Resistance and the Contemporary Age (Casrec) (formerly known as the Veneto Institute for the History of the Italian Resistance and the Contemporary Age - Ivsrec), is made up of 567 images, subdivided into 49 collections.
It comprises newspapers and propaganda literature (leaflets, posters, printed handouts, copies of original documents, as well as typed or cyclostyled excerpts, mostly from the Veneto area) by political parties, Liberation Committees, military partisan formations, and the Allied commandos (PWB-Psychological Warfare Branch, Italy) during the Liberation War that took place in Italy between 1943 and 1945. It also incorporates some Fascist propaganda documents that are related to clandestine press literature and were collected together with it. For the sake of completeness, a series of documents containing printing instructions, drafts, requests, and indications regarding the preparation and spreading of propaganda literature has also been incorporated in the collection.
All documents are kept in the Archives of the University Centre for the History of the Italian Resistance and the Contemporary Age (Casrec).
Digitalization of materials has been possible thanks to the contribution of the Veneto Region (Act 29/2010).
