Description
This series collects essays capable of analyzing data and at the same time proposing reflections on phenomena such as gender discrimination, violence against women, sexual harassment, respect for people whose sexual orientation is not aligned with the alleged majority, rights of homosexual or transgender human beings, but also contains studies on all issues concerning equal opportunities at work or in study, and therefore also work well-being, as well as support and subsidies for those who move from disadvantaged situations. This is a multidisciplinary series, which includes both strictly scientific contributions, with double-blind review, and possibly communications and testimonies addressed to an audience wider than the strictly specialized ones.
It is a series that finds a first collector in the Guarantee Committee for Equal Opportunities of Ca’ Foscari University, but which remains open to publications from multiple sources: conference proceedings, works by research groups or by individual scholars. In any case, these are investigations and studies capable of dissecting the aforementioned issues on the one hand by analyzing the data in a sociological, legal and psychological sense, on the other by digging out in a critical, theoretical and cultural sense the stereotypes and crystallized behavioral codes which propitiate every form of violence, bullying or discrimination within the academic walls, as well as in the everyday life outside them. The question of rights cannot be solved only through rules, prescriptions and controls, but is concretely inscribed in human relationships between individuals in flesh and blood, in their deepest symbolic and cultural imaginary, in the words and gestures that they actually exchange every day, in the working conditions that occupy our days, and, so, in the university spaces, as well as in the companies or squares of our city.
