ILLUSTRAZIONE
Il codice, realizzato in Germania nel XII secolo, presenta una serie di iniziali calligrafiche con motivi fogliacei in apertura dei libri liviani. Nell’ultima carta (f. 137r) invece è disegnata a penna e inchiostro una figura maschile caratterizzata dalla mitria sul capo, la sfera con globo e mappa terrestre a T sulla mano destra, un pugnale legato alla cintura e un cane accovacciato ai suoi piedi. Il soggetto è identificato dall’iscrizione “Titus Livius”, autore del testo qui rappresentato in un’iconografia inconsueta.
